Pinecrest

Large houses on large lots. Open, grassy parks. A-rated schools. The privacy of a rural-like community. For many home-buyers looking for the perfect suburban community, the Village of Pinecrest is home. A relative newcomer to Miami-Dade County, Pinecrest’s real estate and lifestyle amenities are as attractive as they are timeless.

Even before it was incorporated in 1996, the neighborhood that was to become Pinecrest lured families for generations. Couples moved here to have children. Families moved there for bigger homes on larger lots. It attracted executives, entrepreneurs, physicians – even well-known athletes.

What they found were open and sweeping vistas unlike anything common to more crowded suburban neighborhoods. Standard lots are large; those in North Pinecrest are even larger, many an acre or more.

Gated and open communities include The Sanctuary, Swan Lake, Gables by the Sea, Cutler Bay Estates, Pine Bay Estates, Stritter Estates, Criterion Estates, as well as other, smaller and more quaint gated estates.

What residents find is a community driven by civic pride and enthusiasm. It renamed a stretch of U.S. 1 as “Pinecrest Parkway.” Its Pinecrest Gardens park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the city is a Tree City USA community.  The South Florida Business Journal rated the city “Best in South Florida for Qualify of Life” and it was recognized as a 2012 Playful City USA.
